SMHS Summer BRIDGE Program (for incoming freshmen ONLY)

Click HERE to register for the Summer BRIDGE Program.  Students selected for the program must be incoming freshmen (Class of 2017) who are 1 to 3 years behind in school.  The goal is to allow these students a chance to get back on track to graduation by completing one or more freshman level courses online during the summer.  Space is limited.  First priority will go to the students who are behind.  If space is still available, we will also accept those incoming freshmen who would like to take course during the summer to get a jumpstart on high school.  Please, contact Mrs. S. Ross, Freshman Coordinator, at swashington2@ebrschools.org if you have any questions.

LA GEAR UP REWARDS FOR SUCCESS

Every year LA GEAR UP students compete for $200,000 in Rewards for Success (RFS) scholarships.  Students can literally earn money for college while still in high school!  Awards of $1,000, $500 and $250 are awarded to selected student members of the LA GEAR UP cohort from the graduating classes of 2014 and 2015.  All you have to do is (1) go to school every day, (2) stay out of trouble, (3) work hard in your classes, (4) get involved in your school and community, and (5) take your standardized tests seriously.  But wait...you're already doing all that, right? Why not start earning money for your college education?! Scan the QR code below and you will be directed to the Louisiana Connect website where you can register for your FREE account.  Once on Louisiana Connect, you can connect to various colleges/universities, prospective employees and sign up for LA GEAR UP Summer Transition Camps (see more information below).
