 SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM FOR INCOMING FRESHMEN!

GOAL:
To assist our incoming freshmen who are weak in English or math so they can be adequately prepared to take English I and Algebra I when they begin high school in August 2014.

DATES: 7 weeks total (June 2nd—July 24th) Mondays—Thursdays only

**Off the week of June 23rd

TIME: 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.

*Breakfast begins at 7:30 a.m. and lunch will be served until 12:30 p.m.

TRANSPORTATION: Students must provide their own transportation.

COST: The program is FREE.

REGISTRATION FOR SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM

Registration dates are May 5—May 23, 2014

COURSEWORK: All work will be done online using a program called Edgenuity. Students will take the 8th  grade math and/or English course online. **Those who score unsatisfactory on the LEAP must take and pass the 8th grade course. Students can also take a computer literacy course and earn 0.5 high school elective credits.

REQUIRED MATERIALS: Earphones, 1 subject tablet and pen/pencil, calculator (optional)

How Do I Apply?

·         Print out two copies of your signature page and attach the required documentation. (Immunization records, birth certificate, social security card, 2 proofs of address)

·         Hand-deliver your signature page with the appropriate documents to your first choice school within (3) school days

ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS:

·         Score Basic or above on the LEAP (for 8th grade) in English Language Arts and Math

·         2.5 grade point average on the last two years' school report card
