- What should be done when the command “Count Off” is given?
When the preparatory command “Count” is given, squad leaders remain at attention with their head and eyes to the front while everyone else in the formation snaps his/her head and eyes to the right. When the command of execution “Off” is given, squad leaders yell one and the rest of the people in the squads count 2, 3, 4, etc. snapping their head and eyes back to the front as they do so.
- While marching, when the command “Countercolumn, March” is given, what does the 1st squad do? First squad marches 3 steps forward, executes a column right movement and then another column right
- While marching, when the command “Countercolumn, March” is given, what does the 2nd squad do? Second squad marches one step forward, executes a column right movement and once they have passed 3rd squad, they execute another column right.

When the command “Column of Twos to the Left/Right” is given, the 1st and 2nd squad leaders command “Forward” and the 3rd and 4th squad leaders command “Stand Fast.” When the command of execution, “March,” is given, leading squads march forward and remaining squads stand fast until the squad leaders give the command “Column Half Left/Right, March” over their right shoulder as the right foot of the last person in the leading squads strikes the marching surface abreast of him.
- How does the platoon reform the original column formation after being marched in column of twos?
To reform a platoon to its original column formation, the command “Column of Fours to the Left/Right, March” is given. On the preparatory command, the squad leaders of the 1st and 2nd squads command “Stand Fast” and the squad leaders of the 3rd and 4th squads command “Column Half Left/Right.” When the command of execution, “March,” is given the 1st and 2nd squads stand fast and 3rd and 4th squads execute a column half left/right. Once 3rd and 4th squads have reached a point that will ensure correct interval on the element to their right/left, they automatically incline to the right/left and the 1st and 2nd squad leaders command “Mark time, March” and “Squads, Halt.”

a. To properly fold the Flag, begin by holding it waist-high with another person so that its surface is parallel to the ground
b. Fold the lower half of the stripe section lengthwise OVER the field of stars, holding the bottom and top edges securely
c. Fold the flag AGAIN lengthwise with the blue field on the OUTSIDE
d. Make a triangular fold by bringing the striped corner of the folded edge to meet the open (top) edge of the flag
e. Turn outer (end) point inward, parallel to the open edge, to form a second triangle
f. The triangular folding continues until entire length of the flag is folded
g. When the flag completely folded, only triangular blue field of stars should be visible
