JROTC Program Description

 

JROTC – LET I: is an elective program whose objectives are to develop leadership, self-reliance, responsiveness to authority, physical fitness, and attributes related to good citizenship and patriotism. The JROTC – I curriculum has units on Citizenship in Action; Leadership Theory and Application; and Foundations for Success. Additionally, cadets encounter many opportunities for participation in co-curricular and community activities, including Drill, Rifle, Physical Fitness, and Color Guard teams, as well as School and Community Service Projects.

JROTC –LET II is a continuation of JROTC-I, in which individual cadets experience increasing personal leadership opportunities. The JROTC – II curriculum has units on Wellness, Fitness & First Aid; Geography, Map Skills & Environmental Awareness; and Citizenship in American History & Government.

JROTC –LET III is a continuation of JROTC-I and -II, in which individual cadets assume increasing responsibility for the training and instruction of newer cadets. The JROTC – III curriculum has units on Citizenship in Action; Leadership Theory and Application; and Citizenship in American History & Government.

JROTC –LET IV is a continuation of JROTC-I, -II, and -III, in which individual cadets assume responsibility for the planning and conduct of all JROTC activities, under the guidance of their instructors. The JROTC – IV curriculum has units on Citizenship in Action; Leadership Theory and Application; and Foundations for Success.

Air Rifle Safety and Marksmanship (Optional) NOTE: Scotlandville JROTC expects to begin Rifle Team activities during the 2008-09 school year.)
