Meet The Instructors

First Sergeant William C. Alsobrook teaches our JROTC-1 classes this year. He served 1983-2004 on active duty in the United States Army. Beginning as an Armor crewman, he transferred to Field Artillery, and spent the second half of his career in Recruiting Command. He has three years of college credit, and has served as a JROTC Instructor since 2004. A native of California, 1SG Alsobrook grew up in Baton Rouge. He and his wife Wanda have been married for 20 years, and have two wonderful daughters. He believes, “The leader of the pack sets the pace of the race!”

Lieutenant Colonel Dana M. Mangham is our SAI (Senior Army Instructor), teaching ROTC-2, -3, and -4 classes this year. On active duty from 1981-2005 as an Ordnance officer, he spent seven years overseas and is fluent in German.He also served as Battalion Executive Officer and Acting Commanding Officer. He commanded a senior ROTC program at Bowie State University, and taught on the History Department faculty at the US Military Academy (West Point) for six years. He has a B.A. in History and German from LSU, and an M.A. in History from Rice University. He and his wife Nancy grew up in Baton Rouge, and now reside near St. Francisville. Married for 28 years, they have two wonderful daughters. LTC Mangham believes, “Motivation is the key!”
