Library

Students may use the library for class work, recreational reading, or a quiet environment. Students may come to the library before school and during lunch. Teachers may bring classes for instruction and research activities.

The library is open every school day from 6:40 A.M. until 2:40 P.M. Students must have a valid ID in order to check out materials. There is a limit of (3) library books per student, unless special permission is granted by the librarians. Books are loaned for two weeks. Reference books and reserved materials may be checked out overnight.

The Scotlandville Magnet library is fully automated. There are 22 networked computers in the library. Also available are laser printers, a scanner, and a copier.

Computer use is a privilege. The computers may ONLY be used for school related work. The East Baton Rouge Parish School Board does not allow personal email, games, or the purchasing of products/services on school computers. All students are required to adhere to the Computer Usage Policy included in the Student Rights and Responsibilities Handbook. Failure to do so will result in the loss of computer privileges.
